Terms of Use
These terms include an agreement to resolve disputes by individual arbitration and a class-action waiver, which you can opt out of within 30 days. See Disputes, arbitration, and class-action waiver.
Effective 8 October 2026.
These are the terms for using Panoply, operated by Oak Collective LLC. Using the app means you accept them. They are written to be read; if something here is unclear, write to support@panoplystyle.com and ask.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13, and at least 16 where local law sets that floor. You need to be able to enter an agreement where you live. One person, one account.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us at support@panoplystyle.com if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and we are responsible for keeping the door locked.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. What that removes is set out in the privacy policy.
What belongs to you
Your photographs and everything you write stay yours. Nothing here transfers ownership of them to us.
To run the app we need your permission to do specific things with them: store them, make the versions the app displays, send your form photographs once to the providers described in the privacy policy, and show shared items to the people you chose to share with. That permission is limited to operating Panoply for you, it lasts only as long as you keep the content in your account, and it ends when you delete it.
We will not use your photographs to advertise Panoply. Not in screenshots, not in a launch post, not "anonymised". If we ever want to show something of yours, we will ask you first and you can say no without consequence. We will not use your content to train a model of our own, and we do not permit the providers we use to train on it.
What belongs to us
The app, its design, its name and its code. You may not copy it, resell access to it, reverse-engineer it, or scrape it. You get to use it, which is the point.
What the app tells you is a suggestion
Panoply suggests outfits, estimates what things are worth, and shows you approximate try-on images. All of it is generated automatically and none of it is advice.
- Try-on images are an approximation. They are not a photograph of you in that garment and they will sometimes be wrong about fit, drape or colour.
- Prices and resale estimates are guesses, not appraisals or offers.
- Money-saved figures are arithmetic on what you told us, not audited savings, and not financial advice.
- Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or professional advice.
Automatically generated content is sometimes simply wrong. Please use judgement, especially before you sell something.
Circles, sharing, and behaving decently
When you share a look, lend a piece, gift something or talk in a circle, other people see it. Some rules, and we enforce them:
Do not post or send anything that is unlawful; anything sexual involving a minor, ever; harassment, threats, or hate directed at a person or a group; someone else's photographs or personal information without their agreement; spam, scams, or commercial solicitation; or anything designed to break the app.
Do not photograph another person and put them in your closet or a shared look without asking them.
Reporting and blocking. Neither is available yet. They are built and not yet released, so nothing in the app can currently report or block anyone. If someone is bothering you in the meantime, email support@panoplystyle.com.
When they are released, this page will describe exactly how they work before they reach you, and we will not describe them here while they do not.
What we do about it. Depending on what we find, we remove content, remove someone from a circle, or close an account. Serious things — anything involving a child, a credible threat — go to the authorities. We do not warn someone before removing content that is already causing harm.
Selling, giving away and lending
Panoply helps you list a piece for resale, offer it for donation, or lend it to someone in your circle. Some of that runs through outside partners.
We are not a party to what happens next. We do not buy, sell, ship, insure, appraise or hold your items or your money. If you sell through a partner, their terms and their fees govern that sale, not ours. If you lend a jacket to a friend and it comes back ruined, that is between you and your friend — the app records the loan, it does not guarantee it.
Price and value figures shown in the app are estimates, as described above.
Links that earn us money
Some links to shops in Panoply may earn us a commission if you buy. We will say so where it happens.
Two commitments that matter more than the disclosure. A commission never changes what the app recommends — the styling comes from your closet and your taste, and no partner can pay for placement. And where Panoply does suggest buying something, it prefers second-hand and independent sellers, which is usually the less profitable choice for us. If that ever stops being true we will change this paragraph before we change the behaviour.
Paid features
Panoply is free to start and the everyday use of it stays free.
Some features cost real money to run, and where they do, there may be a generous allowance and then a paid option. If we introduce one, you will see what it costs and what you get before you are asked for anything, and we will never charge you without you choosing it. Any purchase runs through Apple, on Apple's terms, and Apple handles refunds under its own policy.
We will not use a countdown, a fake discount, or a dark pattern to sell you anything.
Availability
We will try to keep Panoply running and we will not always succeed. Features may change, and some may be withdrawn. If we withdraw something you rely on, we will tell you in the app first. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you notice and a way to take your data with you.
The app is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law gives you and does not let us exclude. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a suggestion will suit you.
Limits on what we owe you
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss of data beyond what we could have prevented with reasonable care. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit — and some places do not allow these limits at all, in which case they do not apply to you.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting your account.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or that we are required to close by law. Except where the harm is immediate or the law prevents us, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account for something other than a breach, you can have a copy of your data.
Changes to these terms
If we change something material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Panoply after that means you accept the change. The effective date at the top is always current.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute between you and Oak Collective LLC that is not resolved by arbitration, including if you opt out of arbitration, goes to the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Small-claims cases can be brought in any small-claims court that has jurisdiction.
DISPUTES, ARBITRATION, AND CLASS-ACTION WAIVER
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights. It requires most disputes between you and us to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and it prevents you from bringing or joining a class action. You may opt out of this section within 30 days, and opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else about your use of Panoply.
1. Talk to us first. Before starting arbitration, write to support@panoplystyle.com describing the problem and what you want. We will do the same if the complaint is ours. Give us 60 days. Most things are a misunderstanding and almost everything is cheaper to fix by email.
2. Agreement to arbitrate. If we cannot resolve it, you and Oak Collective LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to Panoply will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and its Consumer Minimum Standards, which apply where they conflict with anything here. Arbitration is less formal than a lawsuit; a neutral arbitrator decides, and the decision is enforceable in court.
3. Class-action and jury waiver. You and we each waive any right to a jury trial, and each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any representative proceeding.
4. Your right to opt out. You may reject this section by emailing support@panoplystyle.com with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first accepting these terms, including the email address on your account. That is the whole process — no form and no reason. If you opt out, the rest of these terms still apply to you, this section does not, and nothing else about your account changes. We will not treat you differently for opting out.
5. What this section does not cover. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Nothing here stops you from reporting a matter to a government agency.
6. Costs. Where JAMS' consumer rules allocate fees, those rules govern. We will not seek our attorneys' fees from you in arbitration unless the arbitrator finds your claim was frivolous.
7. Where this leaves the rest. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If Section 3's class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim alone proceeds in court in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the rest of this section still applies to every other claim; Section 3 is not severable from Section 2 as to that claim. If any other provision of this section is unenforceable, it is severed and the remainder stands.
